Tray and fiber sequence

  • Open the assigned closure, approved splice plan, cable ends, tray allocation, and work package.
  • Confirm the physical cable, tube, fiber, port, and tray identifiers before recording a relationship.
  • Capture the actual splice path, changed tray position, measurements, photographs, and technician context.
  • Validate duplicate use, impossible continuity, missing evidence, and differences from the approved plan.
  • Submit the completed path for review and update the operational connectivity only after acceptance.

Each evidence type answers a different acceptance question and remains attached to the exact splice relationship it supports.

Worked example: tray reassignment

Accepted-path worked example

The approved plan places a fiber pair in tray two, but the technician finds that position unavailable and records the pair in tray three. The submission links the closure, both cable ends, tubes, fibers, new tray position, photographs, measurement result, reason, and technician to the same work package.

Validation identifies the deviation and checks that neither fiber is already used elsewhere. A reviewer accepts the reassignment, after which the live connectivity and tray record update together while the planned position and acceptance decision remain traceable.
