Weezie started in Porto in 2018 with a clear idea: managing a fiber network should not depend on disconnected tools, manual processes and fragmented data.
Born from telecommunications R&D, the company set out to turn the complexity of planning, building and operating fiber infrastructure into a connected digital workflow.
Milestone 01
Where it started
Weezie was founded in Porto in January 2018, bringing together telecom knowledge and software engineering to rethink how fiber networks are managed. From the beginning, the ambition extended beyond Portugal, with the product built to support complex networks, different operating models and international markets.
Milestone 02
Backing the vision
One year after its foundation, Weezie closed a €525,000 investment round, providing the resources to accelerate product development and international expansion. At the time, the company had already grown to around 15 people and was looking towards markets beyond Europe.
Milestone 03
Taking Weezie abroad
International growth became tangible with Weezie’s entry into the UK market, supporting Airband’s fiber operations in England and Wales. Other engineering companies and network operators followed, expanding the use of Weezie across different markets and deployment models. By 2022, Weezie was supporting fiber projects across several regions, with more than 450,000 km of networks designedusing its technology.
Milestone 04
From growth to scale
After doubling revenue in 2022 and expanding into three additional countries, Weezie had secured more than €5 million in contracts through 2026. Its software had contributed to fiber deployments reaching more than 50 million homes worldwide. Expansion into the United States and Mexico added North America to a presence already covering Europe and Africa.

Investing in the next generation
A €3 million investment round led by GED Ventures Portugalopened another chapter for Weezie, directed towards R&D, new product capabilities and further internationalization. By then, Weezie was present in six global markets and its customers had used the platform in networks serving more than 60 million homes worldwide
Milestone 06
Seven years of building differently
Seven years after its foundation, Weezie had evolved from a small technology team into an international fiber software company. The product had grown alongside its customers, shaped by the people designing, deploying and operating networks every day. The founding principle remained central: combine deep industry knowledge, technology and customer feedback to improve how fiber infrastructure is managed.
Milestone 07
A new growth cycle
In March, Weezie closed a new investment round with TAFIN SGPS joining as lead investor. Weeks later, a strategic partnership with Rakuten Symphonybrought Weezie’s fiber design and planning capabilities into Rakuten Symphony’s fiber network offering for operators and enterprises planning, deploying and scaling large networks.
Still building what’s next
From a Porto startup to technology used across international fiber networks, Weezie’s story has always been about removing complexity. The scale has changed. The networks have grown. The technology has evolved.
The goal remains the same: give the people building the world’s fiber infrastructure better tools to plan, understand and operate their networks.
