We’ve gathered insights from team members who joined us between 2018 and 2025 to share their experiences, memories, and reflections on the evolution of Weezie. After all, the story of Weezie is shaped by the people who build it every day.
You joined Weezie right from the beginning. What was it like working at a company in its early stages?
João Norberto, Scrum Master
Being part of Weezie’s journey from day one was one of the highlights of my career. I witnessed our small IT department grow into a full-fledged company in just one year.
One of the most exciting moments was brainstorming Weezie’s company name and branding. We wanted something fresh, innovative, and easy to remember. We inspired ourselves with Apple, Google and Uber — simple, one-word names that rolled off the tongue. After many ideas on the whiteboard, we choose “Weezie” — a name that still fills me with pride.
The defining moment for me was when we moved into our own office. It felt like true independence, and that moment inspired us to build the company we knew we could become.
What has been the biggest lesson or surprise you’ve learned in these 7 years of growth and transformation?
Pedro Branco, CTO
In the past 7 years, I’ve learned that innovation in fiber network management happens when we combine technology with an active focus on customer feedback. As CTO, I’ve seen ideas evolve into industry-changing solutions, but none of this would have been possible without our resilient team. The fast-paced changes in the fiber optic industry require data-driven, strategic decisions, and celebrating every milestone — big or small — has been key to maintaining motivation and momentum.
If you had to choose a defining moment in Weezie’s history, what would it be? And why?
Rui Gomes, CFO
One of the most defining moments in Weezie’s history was undoubtedly the successful completion of our investment round. This milestone paved the way for a strong and structured R&D department, driving innovation like never before. The impact was immediate, with the Flow project coming to life and revolutionizing the market.
But as important as innovation is, strengthening our team is just as crucial. We’re a unique company, and proof of that is 20 consecutive months without a single employee leaving! This shows we’re doing things right and building something truly special.
What was the fun, unexpected, or memorable moment that made you realize how unique Weezie is?
Maria Monteiro, UX/UI Designer
During a challenging sprint, the team decided to make coffee to recharge. When we went to stir the sugar, we realized there were no spoons. After some absurd suggestions, I grabbed a knife, and without hesitation, we used it. Between laughs and jokes about “UX even in coffee,” I realized that at Weezie, every challenge becomes a team bonding moment. The coffee tasted great — and our certainty that we work with the best people grew even stronger.
What impact do you feel Weezie has had on your professional life and personal growth?
Raquel Vidal, Data Scientist
Weezie taught me that every challenge is an opportunity to learn something new. Working here means constantly being on the move, finding solutions, and improving processes. This dynamic has helped me grow not only technically but also in how I approach problem-solving and decision-making. I value the freedom to explore new ideas and the trust in teamwork, which are essential to my professional and personal growth.
If you had to describe Weezie in just three words, what would they be?

Flexible, united, and encouraging.
Weezie is flexible because it allows us the freedom to choose remote work days and vacation time, promoting a healthy work-life balance. It is united because it fosters teamwork and idea-sharing to achieve common goals. Above all, it is encouraging because it creates an environment where we can all grow and develop our skills.
Looking to the future, what do you expect for the next 7 years of Weezie?

Over the years, we’ve grown, learned, and overcome challenges together. Looking ahead, I see Weezie reaching even greater heights, entering new markets, and continuing to innovate. But most importantly, I hope we never lose our team spirit and the drive to always do things differently and better!
